The Moonbeam Method

Week 1 · Lesson 1.4 · 16 min

You're not Maggie. That's the point.

Separate the founder from the Moonbeam so you can stop impersonating a personality that's already taken.

My personality is mine. Yours is what people actually come for.

I need to be blunt, because this is where a lot of affiliate communities go strange.

People start sounding like the founder. They copy the catchphrases. They copy the cadence. They copy the spiritual tone, or the humour, or the way she says "right" at the start of a sentence. It comes from love, and from fear. If I sound like her, I belong. If I sound like me, I might be doing it wrong.

You won't be doing it wrong by sounding like you. You'll be doing it wrong by sounding like me.

MoonMagicx has a feeling — spiritual, feminine, empowering, intuitive, warm, quirky, grounded, honest, human. That's the brand. You don't have to sand yourself down to match it. You can be less "feminine". You can be less "woo". You can be a man, a sceptic, a scientist, a vicar's wife, a goth, a football person, a very tired nurse. There's room.

The costume of "spiritual affiliate"

There's a costume. You've seen it. Soft voice, beige wall, the same six captions about "raising your vibration", a product held at the same angle as everyone else, a bio that says "Helping you align" and doesn't mention a single true thing about the person.

The costume isn't evil. It's just crowded. And it's exhausting to wear if it isn't yours.

You don't have to turn yourself into a spiritual influencer. Let me say that again, because it's the bit people skip.

Someone can be funny. Someone can be quiet. Someone can be deeply spiritual. Someone can be sceptical about half of it and still sell a journal they actually use. Someone can love crystals and hate tarot, or the other way around. Someone can be a parent. Someone can have a 9–5 and a phone they only touch at lunch. Someone can be chaotic. Someone can be painfully organised. Someone can swear. Someone can never swear. Someone can be in a body they don't want on camera.

There's no correct Moonbeam personality. There's only the one that belongs to the person doing it.

Forced versus human

Same Tuesday

Forced

"Just aligning with the energy of the full moon and sprinkling a little magic into my morning routine with my favourite MoonMagicx pieces. Link in bio to raise your vibration babe."

Human

Priya: "I'm trying to find a matching sock and also not shout. I stuck the little rose quartz in the bowl of keys so I actually see it when I leave the house." Jonah: "Night shift. Wrote three lines in the journal in the car park. That's the whole spiritual practice. The rest is tea." Bee: "Cried at a green light, then cackled at a voice note, then filmed this with mashed potato on my sleeve. If you needed permission to be a mess while you heal, here's a plate of it."

Why it feels different

The forced caption could be anyone in the costume. The human ones could only be those people. People don't fall in love with "aligned mornings". They fall in love with a specific person telling the truth.

Learning from me without swallowing me

You can learn from my work. You can learn from other Moonbeams. Learning looks like: oh, she tells stories from the middle of the day, I could tell stories from the middle of mine. Copying looks like: using her sentences.

A useful test: if you hid the username, would a friend still know it was you? If not, it isn't finished.

Do this

Take off one layer

  1. 1Write five true things about you that have nothing to do with MoonMagicx. Not bios. Things. "I can't keep a plant alive." "I'm funny when I'm angry." "I know a lot about 90s R&B." "I'm shy in rooms and brave in DMs."
  2. 2Write two things you've been performing because you thought a Moonbeam should.
  3. 3Pick one true thing. Put it somewhere public this week — a story, a comment, a bio line. Not a product.
  4. 4Notice who responds. Those people are FIND beginning to happen.

If this makes you feel exposed, you're on the ladder. Feeling seen isn't the enemy. Performing "I'm fine" while you disappear is.

If this is you

I don't have a personality. I'm just normal.

"Normal" is a place people are starving to meet. The myth that you need a big personality is influencer logic. A quiet, specific, honest person is a relief. Your job isn't to be larger. It's to be findable. The night shifts, the socks, the particular way you talk about fear — that's how we find you. We'll pull that out of you in Week 2 until you're bored of being told you're not empty.

Do the work

  • Who I am, actually

If you can't name yourself without the affiliate costume on, nobody else can find you either. This page is FIND starting at the source — you.
