Week 1 · Lesson 1.7 · 16 min
How we measure this (it isn't followers)
Build a scoreboard that can't be gamed by empty posting, so you know whether you're actually becoming someone people can find.
If you only count what the app counts, the app will train you.
Followers, likes, views, sales. They're not evil. They're just incomplete, and they're late — they tell you what already happened in public. They don't tell you whether you became braver, clearer, kinder, more yourself, or more able to have a conversation that isn't a pitch.
This programme has a different scoreboard. You'll still notice sales. I want you to. I also want you to notice the things that cause sales in a business built on trust.
What we count
Confidence. Did you take the next sweaty action? That's a win even if the video has 14 views.
Visibility of the human. Did a stranger learn something true about you this week?
Conversations. Started, continued, finished kindly. Ten human conversations beat a thousand silent impressions.
Genuine connections. People you'd miss if they left.
Content created from life. Not from a content-pillars PDF.
Consistency. Not "posted 21 times". Kept a small promise most days.
Engagement that's specific. Comments with sentences. Story replies with a detail.
Storytelling. Can you tell one ordinary story without a product in it?
Personality. Would a friend recognise the caption without the username?
Community. Are you in rooms, or only broadcasting?
Ability to create without AI. Could you still write a paragraph if the tool was down?
Ability to talk naturally. In comments, in DMs, on camera, in whatever form is yours.
Ability to include a product naturally. One mention inside a real story.
Quality of relationships. This is slow and it's the actual business.
The weekly shape
Every week you will:
- 1Learn, in lessons that are meant to be argued with.
- 2Do, on the real apps, with real people.
- 3Write, in the workbook, where nobody can like your answers.
- 4Take a weekly challenge that's public enough to count.
- 5Track a handful of numbers that measure the method, not the slot machine.
- 6Reflect, in sentences, not in fire emojis.
- 7Troubleshoot the exact ways this will go wrong for a human.
If you skip the doing, the writing becomes a journal of intentions. If you skip the writing, the doing becomes busywork. You need both, in a loop: learn, do, reflect, try, improve.
Do this
Set the board
- 1Write your current numbers, without drama: followers, last week's conversations (guess honestly), last time you posted something that wasn't a product, last time you used your real voice.
- 2Circle one measure you'll watch this week besides sales. Conversations is a good default.
- 3Tell someone in the Moonbeam community — or the workbook if you're still private — what you're counting instead.
You may still celebrate a sale. Celebrate it as a relationship that reached for a thing, not as proof you're finally a proper affiliate.
If this is you
“I've been posting for months and nothing is happening.”
Then we measure "posting". How much of it was catalogue? How much of it asked for a conversation? How much of it could only have been you? Months of graphics isn't months of the method. This week you've got a different job: one real comment, one honest profile walk, one sweaty ladder action. If you do those and still feel nothing after five weeks, we look again. We don't look again from the same scoreboard that trained you into invisibility.
Your Week 1 challenge waits on the week page
The Honest Profile Walk. Screenshot. Count. Sentence. One comment that could only be yours. No product post today.
If that feels too small to be a business training, good. Your old training taught you to confuse volume with progress. We're going the other way.
People first. Products second. FIND → ADD → CONNECT. You don't have to believe it yet. You have to practise it long enough for your profile to start looking like a person lives there.
Do the work
- The honest profile walk
A stranger already has an opinion of you. This is you catching up with it.
- Confidence baseline
If you lie about which rung you're on, the ladder becomes another shame machine. Tell the truth. We can work with the truth.
